About Loeb & Loeb LLP

Storied California firm Loeb & Loeb, renowned for its entertainment and media practice, offers a wide range of services, including nationally recognized practices in marketing, technology, private client, intellectual property, real estate, and nonprofit law.

From Los Angeles to Hong Kong

Loeb & Loeb’s long history began in 1909 when brothers Edwin and Joseph Loeb founded their eponymous firm. Joseph Loeb also helped establish the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, setting the tone for the firm’s future. Metro Goldwyn-Mayer, along with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Union Bank of California, was among the firm’s early clients. Although it had been based solely in California for decades, the firm expanded to other markets in 1986, and today, it boasts six domestic offices and two offices in Asia.

Very Entertaining

Loeb & Loeb has provided counsel to and handled the estates of some of the world’s most recognized celebrities, including actors and musicians, and their families. Its clients have included director Woody Allen and musicians Carrie Underwood, Marvin Hamlisch, Christina Aguilera, and Luke Combs. It’s no wonder that Loeb & Loeb has built relationships with major studios in Tinseltown, including Paramount Global, Netflix, Alcon Entertainment, Sony Pictures, Annapurna Pictures, and MGM Studios. It also has represented major industry organizations such as the Academy of Country Music, as well as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The firm’s entertainment and media practice has earned repeated recognition as Law Firm of the Year in both the Music and Motion Pictures & Television categories by Best Lawyers. Loeb has also been named Entertainment Law Firm of the Year by Benchmark Litigation and U.S. Copyright Firm of the Year by Managing IP. In addition, the firm’s lawyers are consistently recognized in top industry and legal publications, including Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Chambers USA and The Legal 500 United States Guide, among others.

The firm’s entertainment practice is only one of its strengths. Loeb & Loeb is counsel to major corporations, such as Amazon, Google, Visa, Lowes, Toyota, T-Mobile, Hudson’s Bay Company, and the Warner Music Group. In addition to Fortune 500 companies, it advises a host of other clients, from emerging companies to high-net-worth individuals and families.

The firm boasts one of the largest private client practices in the nation, and its nationally recognized real estate practice represents major commercial real estate landlords, tenants, property owners, and developers on both coasts, for which it handles the full range of transactions, real estate litigation, and land use matters. With expert transactional and dispute resolution lawyers in a number of practice areas serving various industry verticals, Loeb offers both legal depth and breadth. With two offices in China, Loeb also provides strong Asian and international practices.

Connected

Loeb’s philosophy of “we’re all connected” translates to its pro bono work. The firm works with local communities to deliver valuable legal services. For example, the firm partners with the Anti-Defamation League, Alliance for Children’s Rights, Legal Aid Society, Veterans Legal Institute, and Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
