Our Survey Says

  • “The first couple of days comprised onboarding and training meetings. My firm also offered multiple training sessions every week throughout my summer to learn about general tips and tricks, as well as other topic-focused training sessions such as patent prosecution training.”
  • “The firm did the best they could do during my summer considering it was during the pandemic. Due to the pandemic, I was only able to go in-person twice a week, but I was able to meet with a different attorney each time I came in. The firm also offered multiple social events via Zoom, including some with other office locations.”
  • “Pleasantly surprised by how much my input is listened to. When I request to do certain types of work, my requests are usually met.”

The Firm Says

Our summer associates provide legal research, writing, discovery, and other substantive support for attorneys. Summer associates have the opportunity to work on a variety of assignments in multiple practice areas. Because of the comfortable size of our summer program, students benefit from working closely with the firm’s attorneys. Summer associates receive substantive feedback on assignments, along with mentoring, training, and client-facing opportunities. Feedback is given directly in addition to formal reviews throughout the duration of the program along with guidance associate mentors provide. Nixon Peabody also hosts a weekly training series, which includes specialized sessions from our attorney development and retention team and other functional areas of the firm. Summer associates are also invited to attend social and professional events, allowing them to experience associate life at Nixon Peabody.
