About Polsinelli

Polsinelli is a full-service firm with a roster of clients nationwide. The firm is especially well known for its strong reputation in practices like health care, labor and employment, real estate, and IP law.

Small Midwest Start

Polsinelli was formed in 1972 in Kansas City, Missouri, as a small shop servicing business and real estate clients. Since its humble start, the firm has grown to over 950 attorneys in 23 offices across the country. The firm takes special pride in providing quality client services. One way the firm demonstrates a “clients first” approach is by keeping its presence in lower-overhead markets to provide comprehensive services at a lower cost.

National Leaders in Healthcare

Polsinelli is a leader in healthcare, with a robust practice backed by one of the largest concentrations of healthcare attorneys in the country. The firm counsels clients—from hospitals to clinical researchers to physician organizations—on all matters of healthcare transactions, disputes, and regulatory issues. The firm’s prowess is bolstered by its roster of attorneys, including former in-house counsel of national healthcare institutions, the Office of Inspector General, and former U.S. Attorneys and Assistant U.S. Attorneys with experience in healthcare fraud investigations. In addition to the firm’s legal services, Polsinelli Healthcare Solutions provides consulting services to clients in the private, nonprofit, and public sectors.

Polsinelli is also renowned for its labor and employment practice, which not only has a strong litigation track record but frequently counsels clients of all sizes on labor and employment issues. Polsinelli is similarly regarded in the real estate arena, where it has a track record of navigating multi-million and billion-dollar deals at all stages, from financing through development and leasing. In the IP realm, the firm has one of the largest practices in the nation, with a deep bench of attorneys who have technical backgrounds. The firm has been rated a top patent firm based on factors like number of patents filed, allowance rate, average number of office actions before allowance, and average time to allowance.

Diversity and Inclusion

Polsinelli's Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship Program is just one component of the firm's overall diversity and inclusion objective. Its purpose is to integrate the firm's commitment to diversity and inclusion with efforts to recruit the best diverse candidates from the nation's top law schools. The Fellowship provides annual scholarship funds that are awarded to an individual or to multiple individuals to assist with law school tuition. Among its other diversity initiatives, the firm has a regular diversity publication entitled Mosaic, which highlights the firm’s diversity efforts.
