Our Survey Says
VAULT’S VERDICT:
Robinson Bradshaw candidates come from T14 and top regional law schools with top grades, journal experience, and/or work experience. In addition, character matters to ensure that associates blend into friendly, team-oriented environments. Because of the firm’s flat hierarchy, partners and associates work closely together, and partners value associate input and care about their development and success. Formal training has increased and improved, and associates benefit from assigned and informal mentors. Work assignments vary and are meaningful and often complex, and associates receive encouragement and support from partners to tackle challenging projects. There is plenty of high-quality work available, and it’s distributed fairly. The lack of a billable hour standard means that Robinson Bradshaw associates enjoy work-life balance and can focus on the quality of their work. Compensation, which is lockstep based on year, is at market but generous considering the lack of an hours requirement. Firm technology is efficient for both in-office and remote work. Wellness offerings such as counseling programs, in-office massages, and gym membership subsidies are appreciated. The firm is committed to and encourages pro bono work, and provides updates via a pro bono coordinator. Diversity efforts include a fellowship, recruitment and retention initiatives, and affinity groups, and the firm has a dedicated committee that sponsors programs. All associates are expected to make partner one day, though counsel is an option as well. Going in-house is cited as the most common destination for those who leave the firm.
