Winston Taylor LLP

With a rich history spanning both sides of the Atlantic, we are present in the major commercial centers that matter to our clients: the U.S., the U.K., Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. Combining scale with the speed clients demand, our defining capabilities include major litigation, critical transactions, strategic IP, and private wealth.

Our team of over 1,400 lawyers works hand-in-hand across markets, sectors, practice areas, and client teams. All-in problem solvers, we bring the creativity to think differently, and the pragmatism to get things done when it counts the most.

Embedded in your business and sharing your ambition, we take the work personally. Shaping what we do and how we do it around your goals and needs, always one step ahead of the moment.

Culture

At Winston Taylor, you will learn from world-class lawyers who are sincerely interested in your career growth and care about your happiness. Our formal mentoring program helps entry-level attorneys integrate into the firm, learn about our culture, and gain valuable skills and knowledge. We also provide formal opportunities for you to give feedback and have an open dialogue.

Assignments & Staffing

We are deeply invested in ensuring our associates receive the opportunities they deserve to work with a wide range of partners and clients. We staff our client matters leanly, which means you will have substantive and challenging work that fosters your professional development from day one. Our offices have assignment attorneys to distribute work and ensure you work on meaningful assignments that allow you to explore your interests. You will also receive real-time feedback and formal reviews to maximize your learning and growth.

Learning, Development & Well-Being

Winston Taylor’s best-in-class training programs and resources are designed to support your growth and success as you advance through your career.

Winston University delivers practice-specific courses and holistic training programs—available live and on-demand—to help you develop the core competencies needed at every stage of your career. All new associates begin with our week-long Jumpstart Orientation program, which covers professional skills and includes participating in a business simulation exercise.

First- and second-year associates then attend either a Litigation or Corporate Jumpstart Training Program, which covers practice-specific content and legal skills.

Winston’s Litigation and Transaction Departments have a dedicated Career Development Advisor who meets regularly with associates from the time they join the firm through their first few years of partnership. These advisors are dedicated to helping associates fully leverage the firm’s vast professional development resources so they can develop into well-rounded attorneys and business advisors with thriving and rewarding careers.

All Winston Taylor attorneys have access to one-on-one coaching  for career and business coaching as well as well-being coaching. We also regularly host well-being workshops on topics ranging from well-being best practices and learned optimism to time mastery and peaceful parenting.

 Opportunity & Inclusion

We create opportunity at every stage—from recruitment and onboarding through development, progression, engagement, and retention. We broaden access to recruiting and early-talent programs and offer mentoring, sponsorship, coaching, career planning, substantive work, feedback, and professional development. We monitor work allocation, exit interviews, and other talent-experience measures to strengthen development, engagement, and retention.

We open doors to the legal profession through student engagement, scholarships, insight programs, work experience, and partnerships with universities, law schools, and established professional organizations. We have awarded more than USD4M to law students through the Winston Pathways Scholarships program. Since 2021, our partnership with the 10,000 Interns Foundation has created 13 employment opportunities across our 2022–2026 cohorts, including trainee and Business Professional roles. These pathways strengthen our recruitment pipeline.

Senior leaders across the firm actively support our inclusion efforts. Executive Committee members, department and office leaders, partners, and senior business professionals contribute experience and sponsorship to expand opportunity and support professional development.

This includes opportunities for colleagues to build relationships with senior leaders who offer guidance, perspective, and sponsorship. The Associate Sponsorship Program pairs fifth- and sixth-year associates with Executive Committee members as sponsors, expanding protégés’ relationships, visibility, access to opportunities, and professional networks.

Leadership engagement also means listening. Through affinity groups, employee networks, surveys, listening sessions, and ongoing dialogue, our people share experiences and perspectives that inform our approach.

Our 16 affinity groups and employee networks bring together colleagues across offices, practices, and career stages. They build community, support professional development, connect colleagues with mentors and firm leaders, and create a space to share perspectives and provide feedback.

Beyond our firm, we collaborate with clients and established professional organizations to broaden access to opportunity and support talent across the legal profession.

We work as one transatlantic firm, with a global outlook and an understanding that inclusion takes shape differently across markets. We share a commitment to opportunity and inclusion while responding to local legal, cultural, and business contexts and the needs of our people and clients.

The work is ongoing, but the goal is clear: widen access, invest in talent, listen closely, and create opportunities for people to contribute and succeed. Different perspectives sharpen our thinking, strengthen our client service, and help us deliver better outcomes.

Work-Life Integration

At Winston Taylor, we understand that supporting lawyers with families is critical to their long-term career success. We’re proud to offer family-friendly benefits that promote balance and flexibility, including:

  • Reduced hour targets during “ramp down” and “ramp up” periods
  • Career strategist for working parents
  • Free overnight breast milk delivery and on-site nursing rooms
  • Discounted back-up childcare (60 days in year one; 15 days/year thereafter)
  • Family Network lawyer network
  • Flexible hours options

Pro Bono Opportunities

Across Winston Taylor, our lawyers use their skills, reach, and resolve to widen access to justice, protect fundamental rights, and strengthen communities. We work shoulder to shoulder with legal aid organizations, nonprofits, clients, and community partners around the world. We also join forces with clients on shared pro bono priorities, combining our people, insight, and reach to increase impact.

These long-term partnerships help us understand what is needed, act where we can make a real difference, and build solutions that last. A dedicated team of nine lawyers and staff leads our global, firmwide strategy and turns that commitment into action.

Our work spans individual representation and systemic change. We stand with people facing wrongful detention, domestic violence, homelessness, inhumane incarceration, disability-related barriers, and other threats to their rights. We help charities and social enterprises increase their impact. We also bring our experience to issues of global significance, from climate justice and sustainable innovation to equality and opportunity in the arts.

The results matter. We ask that all our lawyers contribute a minimum of 25 hours annually. In 2025, our lawyers contributed more than 74,000 pro bono hours, serving clients across hundreds of matters in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, and beyond.

We measure more than hours. We look at lives changed. Rights protected. Organizations strengthened. And obstacles removed. A survivor securing protection, a person kept in unlawful detention finally being heard, a systemic barrier removed for everyone.

We have built a global Pro Bono Practice—opening more opportunities across offices, deepening trusted partnerships, and putting technology to work for good. Our goal is clear: bring more people into the work, extend the reach of our partners, and deliver meaningful change where it matters most.
