Vault’s Verdict
Long known for its tech implementation and outsourcing abilities, Capgemini has been making inroads into the strategy side of the industry in recent years too. The emergence of its separately-branded Capgemini Consulting unit is one of the more intriguing developments in recent years, not least because the trend in the emerging big data field has tended to go the other way: strategy shops leaning into the tech realm. For that reason alone, the firm will be an interesting one to watch in the coming years.
In Asia, however, the bulk of the firm's work continues to be in tech outsourcing, with employees in the region doing the bulk of the data processing and analysis for the firm's other regional operations, in addition to working on "local" area projects. As such, there tends to be no shortage of positions with the firm--although those with a genuine strategic focus are at a premium.
