Vault’s Verdict
Long known for its tech implementation and outsourcing abilities, Capgemini has been making inroads into the strategy side of the industry in recent years too. The emergence of its separately-branded Capgemini Consulting unit is one of the more intriguing developments in recent years, not least because the trend in the emerging big data field has tended to go the other way: strategy shops leaning into the tech realm. For that reason alone, the firm will be an interesting one to watch in the coming years.
As an employer, the experience at Capgemini seems to mirror that at a lot of the larger-headcount places. Career paths seem to be fairly well defined, with a degree of uniformity to benefits, salaries and the like that tends to only be found in larger firms. The one slight drawback at present is that the firm's brand is not as well established in the U.S. as in other regions, and therefore has slightly less pull on future resumes than some of its competitors.
