Mutual Fund Analysts

Unions and Associations

Mutual fund analysts do not belong to unions, but many professional associations provide useful resources. The Investment Company Institute is an international association of regulated funds, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, closed-end funds, and unit investment trusts. It offers continuing education opportunities, hosts a variety of annual conferences, and publishes the Investment Company Fact Book, a guide to the industry that features more than 150 pages of statistics and other information and a list of U.S.-registered investment companies. Other useful organizations include Association for Financial Professionals, CFA Institute, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association, CMT Association, Fixed Income Analysts Society, International Association for Quantitative Finance, International Investment Funds Association, and Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.
