Private Equity Compliance Professionals

Outlook

Employment opportunities should be strong for compliance professionals in the private equity industry, although the number of positions is small. Much of this growth has been spurred by increasing regulation of the financial industry by the U.S. and other governments in response to corporate malfeasance. “Hefty fines and other penalties have jolted companies…into a compliance hiring spree,” according to The Wall Street Journal, “as governments at home and abroad tighten business laws and regulations and ramp up their enforcement activity.”

In its 2020 Salary Guide Accounting & Finance, Robert Half noted that “hiring is ramping up across the financial services industry, especially for job candidates with experience in banking and financial markets, risk and compliance, and operations. Firms look for professionals who can help them keep current with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other global and domestic regulatory standards regarding privacy and data ownership. They also seek candidates with information security experience to assist with cybersecurity initiatives. Financial and regulatory analysts, compliance officers, and internal auditors are in demand as a result.”
