About BDO USA Internship Program

BDO is a place for energetic self-starters who can think and act like entrepreneurs. The firm offers two internship programs - the Core Tax Internship and the Audit/Assurance Internship.

Core Tax Internship
The Core Tax Services Intern is responsible for utilizing their educational background as well as organizational skills in the service of firm's client base through the preparation of returns and extensions under the supervision of more experienced Core Tax Services professionals. This opportunity allows interns to gain a unique hands-on perspective on the firm’s practices and people, as well as to forge essential working relationships for career success.

Audit/Assurance Internship
The Audit/Assurance Intern is responsible for utilizing their educational background as well as organizational skills in the service of firm's client base. Interns assist in problem solving and fact-finding, working side-by-side with more experienced team members who  provide direction, coaching and learning opportunities. This opportunity allows interns to gain a unique hands-on perspective on the firm’s practices and people, as well as to forge  essential working relationships for career success.

Here’s what it takes to join the BDO team:

Strong communication skills: While technical skills are a must, strong candidates also possess the interpersonal skills necessary to work well with clients and co-workers, and to communicate effectively with all levels of management. And as all great communicators know, that means knowing how to listen as well.

Strong work ethic: Take initiative. To succeed at BDO, you must be motivated and willing to pursue new opportunities. In fact, you should be excited about them.

Ability and willingness to learn: Regulations are always changing. What works in one industry won’t necessarily work in another. Strong candidates are motivated to acquire new skills, and have a desire to continually grow, build, and improve.
