Internships and programs offered at PKF O’Connor Davies give students firsthand experience working with the firm’s partners, principals, managers, and professional staff members, allowing them to explore a career in public accounting. Interns broaden their network by participating in community service projects, firm events, and social activities. Interns are immersed in the firm’s culture and are assigned an intern advisor who assists them throughout their internship. Interns also receive robust training to grow and develop their skill sets.
PKF O’Connor Davies offers the following programs and internships for students:
Summer Audit Internship:
The Summer Audit Internship program offers real-world audit experience along with immersion in the firm’s culture. Interns are treated as true team members by assisting in executing actual audit projects for key clients and conducting a market research project for presentations to firm leadership. Community service and firm-sponsored events help interns build a professional network as well as expand their skills through specialized training and collaboration with an intern advisor. This full-time, eight-week internship program starts in mid-June and continues until mid-August.
Winter Tax Internship:
In the Winter Tax Internship program, interns work directly with clients, assisting with tax scanning and tax return preparation. Interns roll up their sleeves and commit to at least 20 hours per week as this part-time program takes place during the mid-February to mid-April tax season.
Leaders of Tomorrow:
For undergraduates interested in accounting, this program presents the opportunity to explore the firm, its culture, and the competitive benefits offered. Participants engage in skill-building workshops, network, develop leadership abilities, and gain a genuine understanding of the responsibilities and advantages a career with PKF O’Connor Davies entails. Designed specifically for sophomores and juniors, this two-day program takes place in June.
Freshman Pathways:
PKF O’Connor Davies understands the importance of exploring career options and getting exposure to potential pathways early on in your college experience. For freshmen interested in majoring in—or curious about—public accounting, this is the program for you! This power-packed, one-day program is a great opportunity to learn about public accounting in a leading mid-sized firm, network with firm professionals at various levels, explore career opportunities in business and accounting, and develop your skill set to help you succeed in the future. Designed specifically for individuals who have just finished their first (freshman) year in college, this one-day program takes place in mid-June.
Audit Internship:
• Must have at least 75% of 150-credit CPA requirement completed from an accredited university.
• Potential candidates should have good communication and computer skills and be team players who are motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Interns must be customer-focused and able to multitask.
• Must be willing to travel locally to clients 80%+ of the time and have access to a car/public transportation.
Marketing Internship:
• Must be enrolled in a BS/BA or MS degree program in Marketing, Communications or related field from an accredited university
• Minimum 3.0 GPA required
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop highly desired
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of SharePoint a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong creative ability
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Tax Internship:
• Must have at least 75% of a Bachelors degree in Accounting completed from an accredited university.
• Potential candidates should have good communication and computer skills and be team players who are motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Interns must be customer-focused and able to multitask.
• Must be able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week and have availability for weekend work when necessary.
• Frequent local travel to clients and other PKFOD locations may be required.

Duration: 6 to 12 weeks; Summer audit and business solutions interns are at the firm for 8 weeks. Winter/Spring Audit interns are at the firm for 12 weeks. Winter/Spring Tax interns are at the firm for 8 weeks.
