Gainwell Technologies' internship program is a paid summer opportunity that generally runs for 12 weeks from mid-May through early August. Interns contribute to work that feeds into the technology and services the company delivers to health and human services agencies. Placements are available across multiple functions, including technology roles supporting software and systems work, as well as business-focused areas such as human resources; some human resources placements are structured as an eight-week rotational experience, allowing participants to move through areas such as employee relations, compensation and benefits, human resources information systems, talent acquisition, and diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.

Throughout the program, interns receive mentorship from experienced staff and have opportunities to interact with company leaders, participate in professional development sessions, and take part in community engagement events. Interns also collaborate with peers across the broader intern cohort on a cross-functional group project. The program concludes with a final presentation to executive leadership, during which interns share their work and receive feedback.
