Most of my immediate seniors / managers have never worked outside of this firm. They have no idea of the world, and only "know" accounting via PwC. We need more of a diverse background of people in mid level roles - but any hiring practices outside the traditional recruit from college is highly unusual. When it does occur, the onboarding training and assimilation is piecemeal and awkward.
