About Bush Seyferth PLLC
BSP Law is a Michigan-based litigation boutique with a nationwide reach. With about 30 attorneys on staff, the firm has offices in Troy, Michigan, and outside of Houston, Texas.
Litigation Trio
Known today as BSP Law, Bush Seyferth PLLC was originally founded in 2003 as BSK Law when Cheryl Bush, Patrick Seyferth, and Raymond Kethledge established a boutique litigation and appellate powerhouse—and their vision has been fully realized. The founders are examples of the caliber of legal talent the firm employs. Among other impressive victories, Cheryl Bush has won 95.97% of her jury trials; Patrick Seyferth has successfully handled high-profile class action suits, commercial litigation, and catastrophic product liability matters in 23 states; and Raymond Kethledge, who is no longer with the firm, was appointed to the Sixth Circuit bench in 2008.
Motions and Millions
BSP Law represents clients with many types of litigation needs, but the firm’s areas of expertise include product liability, class action and other forms of complex commercial litigation, national coordinating discovery, critical motions, appeals, fact investigation, government cases, and alternative dispute resolution. Moreover, the firm isn’t afraid to handle any subject matter from construction and environmental law to advanced technology. The firm's roster of high-profile clients across industries speaks to the range of its prowess: The list includes Ford Motor Company, General Motors, U-Haul, Veolia, Transamerica Life Insurance Company, and Daimler Trucks North America.
BSP Law boasts many types of litigation victories. The firm has defeated the application of multiple class certifications in high-dollar cases, including in a putative nationwide class action suit with plaintiffs seeking more than $1 billion from Volkswagen Group of America, OnStar, and other defendants and in a construction matter with a putative class seeking more than $2 billion from the defendants. The firm is no stranger to winning summary judgments and defending these decisions in state and federal courts, and it has also helped clients reach very favorable settlement agreements. Clearly, the firm can see a case through to the end; for example, the firm recently successfully defended Ford Motor Company in a product liability case and touts a number of appellate victories.
New Year, New Space
In September 2019, BSP Law opened its sleek new office in the Liberty Center in Troy, Michigan. In addition to installing a large amount of glass to ensure an open-concept and collaborative feel, the firm took a “tech forward” approach during the design phase. The firm is equipped with top-of-the-line technology, from video conferencing equipment to lights that automatically dim on the basis of the amount of sunlight in the room. The firm didn’t skimp on amenities either. The office includes a fully-equipped gym and locker room, a kitchen with beer on tap, and a whimsical “Tiny Human Center”—a colorful, kid-friendly space full of books and toys to keep children entertained while their parents get to work. In February 2022, BSP Law opened a second location outside of Houston, Texas, designed with the same top-tier technology, fully stocked kitchen, and family-friendly workspace. The office is also next to the Golf Club of Houston, allowing attorneys to network with clients and unwind after work without battling Houston traffic.
