Both Declan Kelly and Doug Band, co-founders of Teneo, resigned under dark clouds in 2021; Ursula Burns, former CEO of Xerox, and Paul Keary were named Chairwoman and CEO respectively shortly thereafter. Also in 2021, private-equity investor CVC Capital Partners acquired a majority stake in Teneo.
The firm is also well-connected politically, with links to former US Secretary of State and one-time presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, as well as her chief advisor, Huma Abedin.
