Child Care Workers

Unions and Associations

The U.S. Department of Labor reports that only about 5 percent of all workers in child day care services are union members or are covered by a union contract. Child care workers can obtain useful resources and professional support from the Association for Early Learning Leaders, National Association for the Education of Young Children, and the National Child Care Association (NCCA). The Council for Professional Recognition and the NCCA offer certification.
