Hedge Fund Risk Managers

Unions and Associations

Hedge fund risk managers are not members of unions. Some take advantage of the resources offered by professional associations. For example, members of RIMS—The Risk Management Society receive publications such as Risk Management; access to the Strategic and Enterprise Risk Center, a dedicated web portal that provides useful practice resources; and the opportunity to attend continuing education and networking events and society-sponsored conferences. RIMS also offers certification and a membership category for college students. Other useful organizations include the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters, American Risk and Insurance Association, National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research, and the Public Risk Management Association.
