In 2024, chief risk officers earned an average salary of $204,500, according to Robert Half’s 2025 Salary Guide: Finance and Accounting Salaries and Hiring Trends. Salaries ranged from $166,750 to $240,750 or more. Risk analysts with three to five years of experience had the following salary ranges based on specialty:

  • credit risk analyst: $80,500 to $116,000+
  • market risk analyst: $83,750 to $119,000+
  • operational risk analyst: $87,750 to $116,750+
