Private Equity Chief Dealmakers

Unions and Associations

Private equity chief dealmakers do not belong to unions. The American Investment Council (AIC) and Global Private Capital Association (GPCA) are membership organizations for private equity firms, limited partners, fund managers, and related entities. The AIC describes itself as β€œan advocacy and resource organization established to develop and provide information about the private investment industry and its contributions to the long-term growth of the U.S. economy and retirement security of American workers.” Its Web site provides information on industry trends and the benefits of private equity. According to its Web site, the nonprofit GPCA is a "membership organization representing private capital investors who manage more than $2 trillion in assets across Asia, Latin America, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East.” It offers continuing education opportunities, industry statistics, and an annual conference.
