Venture capital analysts are not members of unions, but they can join professional associations such as the Association for Financial Professionals, CFA Institute, Chartered Alternate Investment Analyst Association, and the CMT Association. These organizations provide certification, publications, continuing education classes and webinars, career support, networking events, and other resources. The National Venture Capital Association is the leading trade association of the U.S. venture capital industry. It has approximately 300 member firms, and offers white papers, a blog, industry statistics, and webinars at its Web site. Women in VC, the Association of Women in Alternative Investing, and the Women’s Association of Venture and Equity are organizations that seek to increase the number of women in the venture capital and other alternative investment industries.
