Venture capital marketing specialists plan, organize, direct, and coordinate their employer’s marketing operations. They work to present a positive image of the firm, its partners, and its funds to the public and potential investors via press releases, social media Web sites (including blogs), interviews with members of the media, fund marketing materials, and other strategies. At smaller funds, the role of marketing specialist is often combined with that of investor relations specialist. Marketing specialists may also be known as chief marketing officers, market research analysts, marketing partners, marketing associates, and marketing managers. There are about 286,300 marketing managers and 678,500 market research analysts and marketing specialists employed in the United States. Venture capital marketing specialists comprise a very small portion of this total.
