About Wiley Rein LLP

Wiley Rein LLP is a Washington, DC, law firm that is internationally recognized for its counsel to Fortune 500 corporations, trade associations, and individuals. With 260 attorneys and public policy advisors working in more than 15 practices areas, Wiley provides strategic guidance on complex legal and regulatory matters that help shape the national and global landscape.

Beltway Mainstay

In 1983, Wiley was founded in Washington, DC, by two attorneys with deep roots in the nation’s capital. Bert Rein was a former U.S. deputy assistant secretary of state for economic and business affairs, and Richard Wiley was a former chairman of the FCC. The firm is built on deep knowledge and a sophisticated understanding of Washington’s regulatory and legislative environment.

Today, Wiley advises some of the most innovative, influential, and transformational companies, including startups, as well as business groups and nonprofit organizations. The firm handles regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters in an array of industries—from AI, autonomous vehicles, and blockchain technologies to government contracts, international trade, telecommunications, media, and technology.

Foresight to Empower

In this era of rapid legal changes and heightened scrutiny, Wiley’s interdisciplinary approach helps clients to anticipate challenges, craft policies, and deliver empowering solutions. Firm clients include top U.S. insurance, telecommunications, and media companies; government contractors; and the world’s largest steel companies.

In addition to Vault Best to Work For and Summer Program rankings, the firm is consistently ranked top-tier in Chambers USA. Wiley’s practice areas are also regularly ranked among the best in the nation in The Legal 500 US and Law360, and its pro bono work has been recognized by The National Legal Aid & Defender Association and in The American Lawyer.
