Library technicians can join professional associations such as the American Library Association, Alberta Association of Library Technicians, Canadian Library Association, Council on Library/Media Technicians, Music Library Association, and the Ontario Association of Library Technicians. These organizations provide publications, certification, continuing education classes and seminars, and networking opportunities. Other useful organizations include the Association for Educational Communications and Technology, Library and Information Technology Association, and the Special Libraries Association.
