Unions and Associations
Some library technicians may be members of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees. Library technicians can join professional associations such as the American Library Association, Canadian Library Association, Music Library Association, and the Ontario Association of Library Technicians. These organizations provide publications, certification, continuing education classes and seminars, and networking opportunities. Other useful organizations include the Association for Educational Communications and Technology and the Special Libraries Association.
