“Great school!”
July 2020FORMER STUDENT

Great jesuit education - they care about your professional career and future, while also maintaining a commitment to training the individual.

Downers

Very large - can feel lost if you're not a self-directed person.

Comments

The pro move is to stay off campus the first year.

“Good place to be!”

I thought there were a lot of opportunities and a lot of nice people.

Downers

I guess perhaps the class size can hurt you a bit during OCI.

Comments

If you are interested in doing internships during the year, there are many opportunities to do so.

“Great Learning Environment”
September 2019FORMER STUDENT
Uppers

Quality faculty, variety of course offerings, chill atmosphere, access to opportunities being in the nation's capital, rich and long-standing tradition and culture.

Downers

The cost. Tuition is high and the cost of living in DC is high.

Comments

If you get in, go. Gtown attracts amazing people from diverse backgrounds so you'll never be lacking in thought-provoking conversation. Grades are important but not the only thing that matters, so you're more likely to enjoy the learning process. Also, professor generally treat you as an equal.

Number of offerings, classes, externships, clinics.

Wide network of lawyers

Downers

Felt a bit like a mill, hard to know exactly what is going on

Comments

Is a fantastic choice for any legal career. Network will be very helpful.

“Nice School”

Library is decent. Student population, at best, it just ok.

Downers

Student body and faculty have something to be desired as their attitude is quite off-putting.

Comments

Potentially look elsewhere. Many quality substitutes for less money in the current marketplace.

“Too big”

Uppers

Great adjunct faculty but unfortunately the good full-time faculty always leave fro Harvard.

Downers

The school is too big to build a strong connection after graduation.

Comments

Great employment opportunities in DC and New York but outside those markets you could do better.

“Georgetown Tax LLM Program”
May 2018FORMER STUDENT
Uppers

Wide variety of professionals in the programs - with many of the professors being top experts in their field.

Downers

Majority of classes were after 5pm to accomodate working professionals

Comments

Take some time to carefully consider where you live - some areas of DC are still pretty dangerous

“GULC Review”

Uppers

Fantastic faculty, particular in areas of constitutional and administrative law as well as legal theory.

Downers

Very large university, can be lost in the mix. Clerkship program is a shambles.

Comments

Being in DC really is priceless. Ability to network yourself for internship opportunities.

“Large but Diverse Opportunities”
November 2017FORMER STUDENT
Uppers

The range of classes and clinical programs is fantastic. Also, the professors are top-notch.

Downers

Can be competitive and the first-year classes are very large.

Comments

The law school is excellent overall and the ability to take classes in a variety of subject-matter areas is great. The clinical programs are some of the best in the country. Also, the range of journals affords many students an opportunity to contribute.
