Great jesuit education - they care about your professional career and future, while also maintaining a commitment to training the individual.
DownersVery large - can feel lost if you're not a self-directed person.
CommentsThe pro move is to stay off campus the first year.

I thought there were a lot of opportunities and a lot of nice people.
DownersI guess perhaps the class size can hurt you a bit during OCI.
CommentsIf you are interested in doing internships during the year, there are many opportunities to do so.

Quality faculty, variety of course offerings, chill atmosphere, access to opportunities being in the nation's capital, rich and long-standing tradition and culture.
DownersThe cost. Tuition is high and the cost of living in DC is high.
CommentsIf you get in, go. Gtown attracts amazing people from diverse backgrounds so you'll never be lacking in thought-provoking conversation. Grades are important but not the only thing that matters, so you're more likely to enjoy the learning process. Also, professor generally treat you as an equal.

Solid legal education in a great location. Enjoyed learning more about the students and staff
DownersNothing negative to report. I enjoyed my experience. Close proximity to everything
CommentsApply early to increase your chances of being admitted. Visit the school.

Number of offerings, classes, externships, clinics.
Wide network of lawyers
DownersFelt a bit like a mill, hard to know exactly what is going on
CommentsIs a fantastic choice for any legal career. Network will be very helpful.

Wide variety of professionals in the programs - with many of the professors being top experts in their field.
DownersMajority of classes were after 5pm to accomodate working professionals
CommentsTake some time to carefully consider where you live - some areas of DC are still pretty dangerous
Would You RecommendYes
Fantastic faculty, particular in areas of constitutional and administrative law as well as legal theory.
DownersVery large university, can be lost in the mix. Clerkship program is a shambles.
CommentsBeing in DC really is priceless. Ability to network yourself for internship opportunities.

Countless opportunities available to work on the hill and work in government while in school. All star caliber professors. Clinical programs are top notch.
DownersClass sizes are too large. If someone isn't outgoing, it is easy to get lost in the shuffle. Administrative bureaucracy can be a pain at times..
CommentsWhen comparing Georgetown with similarly situated schools, consider its location in DC, the opportunities available on and off campus, and the professors that you're able to learn from.

The adjunct professors (majority of LLM faculty) are subject matter experts in the areas they're instructing. DC is the epicenter for federal tax, and it's no surprise you will get access to the best and brightest minds.
DownersMost courses are at night, presumably to accommodate the adjunct faculty.
CommentsI have friends that attended NYU, and based on what I've heard from them, I would choose Georgetown again.

Unbelievable access to DC's practical learning resources. Clinical programs that provide up front experience to develop students before they begin practicing. Elite law school with multiple specialty areas.
DownersToo many students. Because of the need for student volume, compromising on admissions including lower LSAT scores since 2010.
CommentsIf you want to have a wide range of clinical and practical learning opportunities, there is no better school. Around 40% get large law firm jobs and 25% get prestigious public sector jobs.
