Great adjunct faculty but unfortunately the good full-time faculty always leave fro Harvard.
DownersThe school is too big to build a strong connection after graduation.
CommentsGreat employment opportunities in DC and New York but outside those markets you could do better.
Would You RecommendYes
Location (Washington DC), proximity to courts, internship opportunities and quality of professors
Downersclass size, technology needs improvement, student housing, food offered in cafeteria needs improvement
CommentsAs one of T14 law schools, GULC is a good choice for students who want to pursue a career in law.

The professors, the location, the part time program, the class topics
DownersThe way the part time program is treated like second class citizens- like no scholarship opportunities, only adjunct professors, etc
CommentsRecognize that there is little guidance and that you shape your own future there

They have an excellent study abroad program they run in London, which I was very impressed with, They offer a summer session as well as Fall and Spring, with students from other universities involved as well. They have several prominent faculty members, and a number of adjunct professors. As for class size, it varies from ten to I believe over a hundred. The Socratic Method is generally used, although some professors lecture to different extents., I believe all use the Socratic Method at least a little. Cold calling varies from professor to professor, both in the degree to which they cold call, the way they go about it (some let you know ahead, some let you sign up, some upper level classes don't do it at all).
AdmissionsDon't recall the subjects of the specific essay, but I remember I wrote it on advice my father had given me before college. The rest is through LSAC, and they consider grades and LSAT)

The environment is intense- incredibly competitive, people are always trying to psych each other out. I've talked to friends at other law schools (Berkeley, Harvard) who don't experience that at all. I think it's especially bad at Georgetown.
Quality of LifeThe dorm is a great option for meeting people when you first arrive, and it's nice to have everything housing-related taken care of during your first year. The environment of the dorm becomes a little intense around finals though- being around all those other 1Ls, all the time...it can be a little much.
AdmissionsThe one unique aspect of my application process to Georgetown was that I had to do an interview with a GULC alumn. I went to his office, and it was very informal, but following the interview I was put ont he 'preferred waitlist'. Not too sure how the two things were related. I eventually got off of the waitlist in late April.
