I'm pretty far removed from this but there is a lot of effort and discussion on this topic. Our internship program is very highly rated and my department works very closely with interns we hope to recruit. The internship program is a lot of work but energizes everyone and we are always eager to welcome back those we've worked with. Our GPA requirements and culture (considerate, hard-working and curious, collaborative) fit define our ideal candidate.
