We target a lower chargeability level than some firms, meaning that the budgeted working hours are lower. I rarely feel over-worked (probably in part because I love what I do), and I have never been asked to miss a planned vacation or important personal event.

That said, our work often requires that we are on site. It is our job to drive change, and that a deep understanding of the business and the people, as well as strong working relationships. I believe COVID will change the "default" of travel, but there will always be some requirements due to the nature of the work.
