Hedge fund relationship managers do not belong to unions. Many professional associations and industry groups provide useful resources. For example, the Alternative Investment Management Association offers certification, continuing education, and other resources to its members (prime brokers, hedge fund managers, fund of hedge fund managers, fund administrators, independent fund directors, etc.). The CFA Institute, Chartered Alternate Investment Analyst Association, BRM Institute, and other organizations provide certification, professional development opportunities, and other resources. The Managed Funds Association is a membership organization for hedge fund managers and businesses that provide brokerage, legal, accounting, administration, trade execution, clearing and settlement, compliance, technology, consulting and other services.
