Insurance Fraud Investigators

Work Environment

Insurance fraud investigators often work irregular hours (including nights and weekends) to conduct surveillance and interview witnesses or claimants. Investigators work both inside at computers in typical office settings and outside at the scenes of accidents, fires, and other locations where a claim has been made. At the scene of a fire or explosion, there is some danger from injury by collapsed roofs, hot spots, and damaged and unstable floors. Many fraud investigators enjoy the problem-solving, investigative aspects of their careers and find it gratifying to stop organized crime networks and individuals from committing fraud.
