Telecommunications network engineers design the communication systems of companies. They design, install, and oversee the voice, data, and video communication systems, as well as decide on the appropriate hardware and software for telecommunications. They may also be known as computer network architects. The Department of Labor reports that in May 2019, there were approximately 160,100 computer network architects employed in the United States.
