An Internet developer, otherwise known as a Web developer or Web designer, is responsible for the creation of an Internet site. Most of the time, this is a public Web site, but it can also be a private Internet network. Web developers work for a wide range of employers from small entrepreneurs to large corporate businesses to Internet consulting firms. Some developers work independently as self-employed. freelance contractors. The Department of Labor reports that there are 222,600 Web developers and digital designers working in the United States.
