Internet Developers

Outlook

Employment for Web developers is expected to grow by 13 percent through 2028, according to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), or much faster than the average for all careers. This strong outlook is mainly due to the continuing popularity of e-commerce and the growing popularity of mobile devices (which are creating a need for specialized mobile-friendly Web sites). Also, as more and more companies look to expand their business worldwide, they need technically skilled employees to create the sites to bring their products, services, and corporate images to the Internet. The DOL predicts that "those with knowledge of multiple programming languages and digital multimedia tools, such as Flash and Photoshop, will have the best opportunities."
