Augmented Reality Developers

Overview

Augmented reality (AR) technology uses imaginary digital elements (and in some case auditory and tactile elements) to “augment” a user’s visual perception of a real environment. It is typically superimposed over an existing environment, and, unlike the related field of virtual reality (VR) technology, users can interact with the AR images. Examples include Pokémon GO, Snapchat Lenses, and the various product visualization tools that are offered by companies such as IKEA, Home Depot, and Amazon. Augmented reality developers use their knowledge of software development, programming, computer hardware, and user experience and design to create the software and hardware for AR products.
