Document Management Specialists

Overview

Document management specialists create and monitor electronic document management systems for companies. They consult with end users of these systems to identify and correct issues related to accessing electronic content. Specialists also monitor regulatory activities to ensure compliance with document management laws. They prepare training materials and other documentation and share these materials with company employees. They work closely with information technology (IT) specialists to establish document management policies and implement the processing, retrieval, and distribution systems of electronic documents. Document management specialists are also known as document control specialists.
