Radio Frequency Identification Device Specialists

Overview

Radio frequency identification device (RFID) specialists design, test, and install the identification systems that are used to track shipments or goods. They also train others in the details of the devices. RFID specialists work for companies that are involved in telecommunications, semiconductor and other electronic component manufacturing; architectural, engineering, and related services; federal agencies; and other types of manufacturing. These specialists are included in the electronics engineers (except computer) category in data provided by the Department of Labor. In May 2019, there were nearly 128,800 such electronics engineers, including RFID specialists, working in the United States.
