Earnings

Salaries for Web developers vary depending on place of employment, location, and level of experience.

The U.S. Department of Labor reports that the median salary for web developers and digital interface designers was $73,760 in May 2019. Salaries ranged from less than $39,550 for the lowest paid 10 percent to $142,080 or more for the highest paid 10 percent.

Differences in pay tend to follow the differences found in other careers: the Pacific, Middle-Atlantic, and New England regions of the United States pay more than the North Central, South Atlantic, and South Central regions and workers in larger metropolitan areas such as New York City, earn higher salaries.

Benefits include paid vacation, paid holidays, paid sick days, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, personal days, and bonuses.
