Editorial research assistants have many duties, but their primary responsibility is to assist research editors, as well as other editors, with ensuring that the text provided by writers is accurate and suitable in format, content, and style for the intended audiences. They also conduct research for editors on a wide range of topics. Editorial research assistants are employed by book publishers, newsletters, magazines, newspapers, corporations of all kinds, advertising and marketing agencies, podcasting companies, radio stations, television stations, and Web sites.
