Unions and Associations
Roman Catholic priests who also work in nonreligious careers (such as teaching) may become members of a union or professional association. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is "an assembly of the hierarchy of bishops who jointly exercise pastoral functions on behalf of the Christian faithful of the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands." The National Religious Vocation Conference, a membership organization for vocation ministers for religious congregations, promotes vocation awareness, invitation, and discernment to life as a priest or religious sister or brother.
