Certification or Licensing
Certification is available from the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance and by service franchisers. Certification programs consist of a set number of classroom hours and a written exam. Certification is not required but it does indicate that pool technicians have reached a certain level of expertise and skill, and it can help promote their business.
Swimming pool servicers who operate their own businesses will need to be licensed and possibly receive certification from their state's department of health.
