Genealogical researcher is a general name for various types of specialized genealogists who use both traditional methods of genealogical research (examining historical and legal documents, studying Census data and other databases, etc.) and DNA testing and analysis to clarify legal issues regarding citizenship or the identification of heirs, help identify the remains of missing soldiers, solve crimes, and meet other goals.
