Overview

Tire technicians are employed by tire manufacturers to test tires to determine their strength, durability (how long they will last), and any defects in their construction. There were approximately 300 tire manufacturers in operation in the United States, with more than 58,000 employees, as of April 2025, according to the market research group IBISWorld.
