I joined the Infosys team during the summer following my sophomore year at Harvard, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. During my internship, I worked with the Center for Emerging Technologies to assess the viability of Blockchain technology for trade finance. The project was both interesting and impactful, yet still very manageable. While I worked during the week, I traveled on the weekends, having the chance to explore diverse locations ranging from mountain ranges to city markets. The best part of InStep, though, are the fellow interns who join you in the workplace and on vacations. When you work at Infosys, you are introduced to many other students from the best universities around the world, making friendships that will last a lifetime. I would highly recommend the InStep experience, and encourage you to seriously consider this unique internship experience.

As a student studying for my master’s degree in Information Systems Management, my academic program focuses on building both business and technical skills. In my internship search, I was looking for project that also focused on both. At Infosys, I work with the Performance Testing division to help them build a strategy for testing Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Researching the trends and capabilities of this new technology has been interesting, and made me interested in working with IoT applications as a full time career.

The best part about an internship at Infosys is the truly global experience it provides. Every weekend I head off with some of my fellow interns to explore some new part of India. However, with interns from every corner of the globe, I think I’ve learned just as much about the rest of the world as I have about India! This is truly the most international group of individuals I’ve ever had the opportunity to be a part of, and they have made this experience so positive.

Infosys InStep is an amazing program designed to broaden your practical and cultural knowledge. I interned there for almost 3 months and found it to be educational on many levels. I was exposed to Indian culture and customs while simultaneously improving my technical knowledge in web design and development. The friendly InStep team is composed of brilliant individuals who are eager to help you every step of the way, from your application to your initiation, and even if you just want someone to have a chat with over a meal. Through this program, I made lifelong friends and learnt lifetime lessons. Living in India gave me a sense of independence and allowed me to grow as a person, and it’s thanks to Infosys that I was able to do that. The InStep internship program afforded me one of the most unique summers I could have asked for. As someone who loves to travel, the program offered the opportunity to explore a new culture while also working for an innovative, tech company. The program coordinators do an incredible job of bringing together over 50 interns from universities worldwide. The diverse intern group made for an exciting in-office experience as well as providing a great group to travel around the country with.

Almost every weekend was dedicated to traveling somewhere around India and exploring what each region has to offer. The people we met were friendly and eager to showcase their country to foreigners. These valuable experiences, paired with the delicious food made for my most exciting summer to date! The InStep internship program is a must for anyone looking to step outside their comfort zone a bit while also gaining valuable work experience.
