About PJT Partners
PJT Partners is a global advisory-focused investment bank headquartered in New York, with additional offices in Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Madrid, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai, and Riyadh. The firm was created in October 2015 after Blackstone’s advisory businesses merged with PJT Capital LP, a financial advisory firm founded by Paul J. Taubman in 2013, and simultaneously spun off to become an independent public company. The new company began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “PJT” on October 1, 2015.
PJT Partners operates through the following business units: Strategic Advisory, including PJT Camberview, Restructuring and Special Situations, and PJT Park Hill.
PJT’s Strategic Advisory business is led by an experienced team of bankers that deliver solutions to companies, boards, and financial sponsors across numerous industries and geographies. PJT advises clients on some of the largest transactions across a variety of products and services, including M&A, joint ventures, minority investments, asset swaps, divestitures, takeover defenses, corporate finance advisory, private placements, and distressed sales.
In the nine years since its inception, PJT has announced more than $1 trillion of M&A transactions. Recent notable M&A transactions include advising AbbVie on its $63 billion acquisition of Allergan, T-Mobile on its $59 billion merger with Sprint, Sky on its $48 million sale to Comcast, Discover on its $35 billion pending sale to Capital One, GECAS on its $35 billion merger with AerCap, Smurfit Kappa on its $34 billion merger with WestRock, Amgen on its $28 billion acquisition of Horizon Therapeutics, TD Ameritrade on its $26 billion sale to Charles Schwab, Frontier on its $20 billion pending sale to Verizon, Caesar’s Entertainment on its $17 billion merger with El Dorado Resorts, Omnicom on its $14.8 billion pending acquisition of Interpublic Group, MGM Resorts on the $4.3 billion sale of the Bellagio, and Alaska Airlines on its $1.9 billion acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines. Recent capital markets advisory transactions include advising the U.S. Treasury on the CARES Act for Passenger Air Carriers, Carnival on $29 billion of debt and equity capital markets transactions, Boeing on its $21 billion equity offering as well as its $8.3 billion pending acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems.
PJT Camberview advises boards and management teams around the globe on shareholder engagement, strategic investor relations, activism and contested situations, sustainability, and complex corporate governance matters. PJT Camberview has advised on more than 425 complex proxy votes and campaigns, and over 125 activism preparedness and defense mandates. Since its founding, PJT Camberview has advised more than 50 Fortune 100 companies.
The firm’s Restructuring and Special Situations business is one of the most well known on Wall Street. It advises both large and middle market companies, financial sponsors, and creditor groups in financially distressed situations, both in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings as well as for out-of-court restructuring, capital raising, and strategic advisory transactions. The group has ranked No. 1 in worldwide announced restructuring transactions over the last two years, and has been involved in many large and high-profile transactions, including recent restructurings for Intelsat, LATAM Airlines, Cineworld, Revlon, Puerto Rico, and McGraw Hill.
PJT Park Hill is a fund placement agent and financial advisory business providing private fund advisory and fundraising services for a diverse range of investment strategies. PJT Park Hill has groups dedicated to private equity, hedge fund/private credit, real estate, direct investments and secondary advisory. It has raised more than $510 billion in capital since inception and has relationships with more than 3,000 investors. PJT Park Hill’s Private Capital Solutions business provides a variety of portfolio management solutions to global financial sponsors as well as limited partners. Secondary advisory services include fund continuation vehicles, LP fund portfolio sales, single asset transactions, team spinouts, GP stakes/financing, preferred equity, NAV financings, and direct investments. The team has executed more than $120 billion of secondary transactions.
