Certification or Licensing
Several professional associations offer voluntary certification to office professionals. For example, IAAP offers the certified administrative professional credential to applicants who pass an examination that covers the following areas: culture and leadership; business communication and deliverables; software, data, and the internet; office and records management; meeting, event, and project management; and operational functions. The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (https://aipb.org) and the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers (https://www.nacpb.org) also offer certification. Accounts receivable specialists do not need to be licensed.
