Drone repair technicians use their knowledge of electronics, machinery, and engineering to repair drones. Drones are usually synced with smartphones, so drone repair technicians are also knowledgeable about repairing wireless devices and systems. Drone repair technicians use various tools and techniques to fix drone issues such as broken outer shells, damaged propellers, and overheated motors. They also fix electronic controls and main boards. The U.S. Department of Labor does not provide data on drone repair technicians, but it has information on aircraft and avionics equipment mechanics and technicians, which have some similar responsibilities to those of drone technicians. There are nearly 137,000 aircraft and avionics equipment mechanics and technicians employed in the United States.
