In October 2024, ZipRecruiter.com reported lower salaries for fitness directors. It reported that fitness directors earned salaries that ranged from $24,000 to $90,000, with median earnings of $54,473.

Benefits for salaried fitness directors depend on the employer; however, they usually include such items as health insurance, retirement or 401(k) plans, and paid vacation days. Directors who work part time usually have to pay for their own benefits.
