Mutual fund customer service representatives do not belong to unions, but several associations provide useful resources. The Customer Service Institute of America (CSIA), National Customer Service Association (NCSA), SOCAP International are membership organizations for customer service professionals. The CSIA and NCSA provide certification. The Investment Company Institute is a “leading global association of regulated funds, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, closed-end funds, and unit investment trusts in the United States and similar funds offered to investors in jurisdictions worldwide.” It offers professional development opportunities and publishes the Investment Company Fact Book, an annual guide to the industry.
