Pest control workers do not typically belong to unions. The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) provides a wealth of information for pest control workers and a way for business owners to advertise. Many more organizations are available for those in this profession; most are based on geographic location or on the type of pest.
In 2023, women comprised only 5.1 percent of pest control workers, according to the the U.S. Department of Labor. This percentage is much lower than their representation (about 47 percent) in the American workforce. Women in Pest Control and the NPMA (which has a Professional Women in Pest Management affiliate group) are working to encourage more women to enter the field.
