The U.S. Department of Labor reports that biological scientists, including ethnoscientists, earned a median annual salary of $79,590 in May 2018. The top paid 10 percent earned $126,390, and the lowest paid 10 percent earned $45,030. Anthropologists and archaeologists had median annual earnings of $62,410, while historians earned a median salary of $61,140. Postsecondary teachers received mean annual earnings of $85,190. Salaries for college professors range from less than $25,000 to more than $125,000. Most ethnoscientists don't enter the field because they want to get wealthy, but because they believe the field is fascinating and because it allows them to interact with different cultures.
