Ethnoscientists

The U.S. Department of Labor reports that biological scientists, including ethnoscientists, earned a median annual salary of $91,100 in May 2023. The top paid 10 percent earned $158,730, and the lowest paid 10 percent earned $52,230. Anthropologists and archaeologists had median annual earnings of $63,800, while historians earned a median salary of $72,890. Postsecondary teachers received mean annual earnings of $84,380. Most ethnoscientists don't enter the field because they want to get wealthy, but because they believe the field is fascinating and because it allows them to interact with different cultures.

Ethnoscientists who work as salaried employees usually receive benefits such as vacation days, sick leave, health and life insurance, and a savings and pension program. Self-employed ethnoscientists must provide their own benefits.
